SCHAUMBURG, IL. (Mar. 22, 2022) – Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers with more members than any other fitness brand, today announced the grand opening/ribbon cutting of its new Schaumburg, IL, club located at 590 E. Golf Road. New members can join for $1 down, then $10 per month or $1 down and $22.99 a month for a PF Black Card®.
Planet Fitness is celebrating the grand opening of its new location on Thursday, April 7, from 3 – 5 p.m., as well as a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Schaumburg Business Association at 3:30 p.m. Planet Fitness is donating $2,500 to the Boys & Girls Club of Schaumburg as an extension of its Judgement Free Generation® program, which aims to promote inclusion, acceptance and kindness throughout all communities by empowering a generation of teens to grow up contributing to a more judgement free planet.
Grand opening attendees will enjoy giveaways and raffle prizes that include sports tickets and souvenirs from the Chicago Bulls, Schaumburg Boomers, Chicago Wolves and the Northwestern Wildcats along with a special appearance from Wolves mascot – Skates the Gray Wolf. Results from a national study2 recently commissioned by Planet Fitness show that close to three in five (56 percent) Americans say they have not made their mental wellness a priority in the past year, while feelings of isolation (64 percent) and loneliness (59 percent) have increased since the start of the pandemic3. The American Psychological Association similarly4 found that more than half of U.S. adults (53 percent) have been less physically active than they wanted to be since the pandemic started, with a majority (61 percent) experiencing undesired weight changes, averaging 28 to 41 pounds gained.
